PAPERBACK

My Struggle, originally titled Mein Kampf in German, is a book written by Adolf Hitler in which he outlined his ideology and the political manifesto of National Socialism, interwoven with autobiographical elements.

The book is an interesting document as it describes how and why Hitler, the dictator of Nazi Germany from 1933 to 1945, became antisemitic, in addition to detailing his future plans for Germany.

Mein Kampf was published in 1925, following Hitler's imprisonment after his failed coup attempt in Munich in 1923.

Broadly speaking, it sets forth Hitler's ideological program, in which he identifies Jews and "Bolsheviks" as racially and ideologically inferior and a danger to the nation. Conversely, he establishes "Aryans" and National Socialists as racially superior and politically progressive.

Hitler's ultimate goal was the unification of the German peoples into a single Greater Germany and the expulsion of the Jews from the nation.

From Alexandria, although we know it is a controversial and polarizing work, we have chosen to keep this book in the catalog because it is a historical document and we believe that history must be known so that it does not repeat itself.
